Terms of use

By using SOWMOS, you agree to use the platform lawfully, respectfully and in accordance with these Terms of Use.

Bookings

Bookings made through SOWMOS are agreements between the member and the instructor or venue.

SOWMOS provides the platform for discovering, booking and paying for classes but is not the organiser, operator or provider of any class or event.

Payments

Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. SOWMOS does not store your payment card details.

The SOWMOS booking commission is currently 0%. Stripe payment-processing fees are separate and are typically 1.5% + 20p for a UK card; fees can differ by payment method.

Depending on the class, the instructor either covers the booking fee within the displayed class price or passes it on to the member at checkout. Your total payment is shown before you pay. This choice affects who pays the fee at checkout, not the cancellation policy.

The planned SOWMOS booking commission is 1% per successful booking, capped at £12 per instructor per calendar month. This is not currently charged. Stripe payment-processing fees are separate and are not covered by that cap.

Refunds and cancellations

You can cancel a booking at least 24 hours before the class starts. You'll be refunded what you paid for the class booking, minus the non-refundable booking fee applicable to that booking. The rest goes back to your original payment method.

The booking fee includes Stripe payment processing and any SOWMOS booking commission applicable when you booked. The amount retained uses the fee recorded on your original booking, not today's advertised rate. For older bookings without a recorded fee, the legacy calculation of 2.5% + 20p applies, limited to the amount paid. The fee is retained whether the instructor covered it within the class price or it was added at checkout.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class starts are non-refundable.

If an instructor or venue cancels a class, you are entitled to a full refund of your class booking payment, including the booking fee. For a single cancelled class, you may first be offered 48 hours to move to another date without a change fee. If the new class costs more, the price difference may still be payable. If you do not take the move offer, the full refund is processed automatically.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for ensuring the information in your account is accurate and up to date.

You are responsible for all activity carried out using your account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use SOWMOS for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.

Changes

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page and will apply from the date it is published.

Shop Merch & Equipment

Instructors may sell items (for example water, mat hire or merchandise) through their SOWMOS shop, at the door, or alongside a class booking.

On each shop sale the instructor pays a SOWMOS shop commission of 2% plus Stripe payment processing (typically 1.5% + 20p for a UK card; it can differ by payment method). These are deducted from the instructor's payout; item prices shown to buyers already include them. Shop sales and class extras are excluded from the planned £12 monthly cap on SOWMOS booking commission.

Items bought alongside a class booking are collected at the class. Cancelling a class booking does not cancel or refund a pre-paid item; the item remains available to collect from the instructor.
